Children's Illustrations
Brief: A self-created brief in my Art Foundation course. My aim was to explore and develop illustrations in the context of a children’s book. Through this project I undertook stages such as observational sketching, character and environment development/creation and media experimentation.
I chose to visualise the Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale ‘Little Ida’s Flowers’ a story about magical dancing flowers and the little girl who finds them. Through the project I edited my work beyond the original story to push my imagination and creativity more.
My Final Illustrations were created in Adobe Fresco, but draw on the textures of traditional mediums (watercolour, pencils and gouache).
